Dad of 3 Sh-ot and Ki-lled in Target Parking Lot, Allegedly During an Argument Over Spot

A father of three was fatally shot after an alleged fight over a spot in a Target parking lot in Georgia.

The Savannah Police Department said it responded to a report of a shooting in the area of the Target on Sunday, Jan. 4. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

Tyler Linn, 30, was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting, according to the police department. Linn remained on scene following the incident, police said.

It is not immediately clear if Linn has entered a plea or retained an attorney.

WJCL and WTOC reported the victim was identified as Matthew Traywick, a father with three young children.

In a Facebook post, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson claimed the shooting happened during an “alleged argument over a parking dispute.”

“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of the victim,” Johnson said. “No disagreement over a parking space, or anything else should ever end in the loss of life.”

Traywick’s employer, Vaden Automotive, said the company was “heartbroken” by his loss.

A GoFundMe has been started to benefit Traywick’s wife and three children. It has raised over $85,000.

Linn is an Army veteran, serving from 2015 to 2023.
